Under the Pier: Public Art Installation by Sophie Tea

Something big (and very colourful) has landed on the riverside for the summer…

Join us at Fulham Pier from 1 June for Under the Pier – the first-ever public art installation by independent British artist, Sophie Tea. Free and open to all, this bold new commission transforms the riverside into an immersive, playful seaside escape.

Spanning the architectural beams along the riverwalk, the large-scale artwork brings together vibrant painted scenes and sculptural 3D elements, creating a fully immersive experience that invites visitors to step into Sophie Tea’s bold and colourful world. Designed to be encountered in the open air, the installation encourages moments of pause, exploration and connection.

Set against the calm rhythm of the river – with passing rowers and golden sunsets – Fulham Pier offers a laid-back summer setting that feels a world away, yet just moments from central London. The installation marks a major milestone for Sophie Tea, known for building a global following of over two million through social media. Under the Pier reflects her mission to make art more open, accessible, and part of everyday life.
