This August, the Global Sounds Series continues its journey across cultures and continents with a powerful evening of music featuring the Soraya Toukabri Quartet.
Between two shores, Soraya Toukabri crafts a singular musical language where contemporary jazz meets Arabic poetry and North African heritage. Rooted in Arabo-Andalusian traditions and the rhythms of Tunisian Stambeli, her work is also inspired by iconic voices such as Oum Kalthoum and Fairuz, shaping a sound world that is fluid, emotional, and deeply embodied.
